About the Event:
While many on the left have viewed Donald Trump’s election as a triumph of nativist, patriarchal politics, his victory must also be understood as byproduct of deeply rooted structural problems in our economy. The US faces a systemic crisis that cannot be solved with the old politics of reformist liberalism. We need a strategic response to Trump and Trumpism that goes to the very root of how our economy works and for whom.
Please join us for a conversation with Gar Alperovitz, noted author and civic leader, to discuss how the left can build a new and different institutional power base, step by step, along with a compelling new vision of the future based on a radical democratization of the economy, starting at the community level and working up.
