Millions are eager to take back our country from the hard right and advance our own popular agenda. Unprecedented numbers of central Vermonters are becoming active joining/supporting new and old groups. But we need to go beyond our silos. Either we come together or we all lose. Effective resistance requires massive social mobilization, plus an ongoing, organized mass movement.
But sustained movement building requires an educational infrastructure.
At 5:30 pm author Les Leopold will share a presentation on an education project that would help Vermonters understand the necessity for building an ongoing, united movement and why a powerful common agenda is both possible and needed.
At 7 pm we'll discuss building a local Popular Assembly that meets monthly, with an educational component, as well as coordinating action around key issues, and a provisional steering committee.
Most immediately, we want to support Justice for All's work to pass Racial Justice legislation, and build the April 29th Peoples Climate March (in Montpelier and DC), and May Day March for Migrant Justice,
