On November 7th, the residents of Detroit, Michigan, will be going to the polls to choose their next City Clerk - the person most responsible for making sure voting is fair, easy and accessible - and Our Revolution is getting out the vote for progressive organizer Garlin Gilchrist.
Garlin is a progressive political organizer, and the City of Detroit’s first Director of Innovation & Emerging Technology. He wants to use his technological skills to transform the Detroit City Clerk's office into one which makes voting easier by opening more polling places, encouraging early voting and replacing outdated voting machines. He also wants to make it easier for the people of Detroit to engage with local politics by making the City Council, and their records, more accessible.
